Benefits of an all-through school
- Once your child has a place at Oakgrove Primary they are guaranteed a place at Oakgrove Secondary. You do not need to apply for a secondary place during Year 6.
- We draw on subject specialist teachers to enhance our curriculum, for example, all of our French is taught by a secondary French teacher
- We use specialist teaching areas at the secondary site regularly: carol concerts and our Highlights musical are performed at the secondary theatre; the use of the art studio for some art lessons
- Whole school events, such as the school's carol service and awards evening
- Children have many opportunities to spend time at the secondary school and are familiar with the setting when they start in Year 7. This helps create a smooth transition to the secondary site.
- The curriculum is seamlessly sequenced from Early Years Foundation Stage to Key Stage 5
