Nursery 2024/2025
Oakgrove Nursery currently offers provision for children aged 3 and 4. The main in-take for Nursery is the September following your child’s third birthday.
Oakgrove Nursery September 2024 - Application Form
The application window is open until 12 noon on Friday, 12th March 2024, and applicants will be advised of allocation of places by Thursday, 28th March 2024.
To complete on a phone/ tablet/ computer the applicant needs to save the form on to their device, complete the form and then press save to save the completed form. Please email the form with the supporting documentation to admissions@oakgrove.school.
Offers are subject to availability of places. The main intake for Nursery is the September following your child's third birthday.
It should be noted that a place in the nursery class does not automatically guarantee admission to the Primary school. Parents should refer to the Primary School admissions policy for further advice on applying for a place in Reception.
Please note that the application process is not a first come first served basis.

Timeline for Admission Appeals for Year R – September 2024
Following national offer day on Tuesday, 16th April 2024, if you named Oakgrove Primary and Nursery School as one of your preferences and were unsuccessful, you have a right to appeal against the decision to an independent appeal panel.
The appeals timetable* for Oakgrove Primary and Nursery School for students starting in Year R in September 2024 is shown below. Stage 1 hearing and Stage 2 individual hearings will be held virtually, with meeting invites issued by the Clerk to the Independent Appeal Panel nearer the time.

Requests for appeal forms must be made by 3pm on Wednesday, 15th May 2024.

In year admissions refer to applications made at any other time after the initial September entry into Reception.
Parent/ Carers should be aware that Oakgrove School is an oversubscribed school with more applicants than places available and each year many Parent/ Carers are unsuccessful in their application for a place. Please note that when a place does become available it is allocated strictly in accordance with the school’s admissions criteria.

Applications for an in year admission for September 2023 can be made from the beginning of June 2023. Please find below the link to the Kingsbridge Educational Trust (KET) Schools Application form

To complete the editable PDF on a phone/tablet/computer, you will need to complete the form and then using 'save as' save it on to the device you are using. The completed form should be emailed with the other supporting documentation to: admissions@ket.education
Applicants can submit the application form with the supporting documents during June and July for a place starting in September 2023, to show continued interest in a place at the school. Please be advised that initially the applicant will receive a turn down letter as the current year groups are full. Child(ren) can then be placed on the waiting lists for September 2023. The waiting lists are ranked via the oversubscription criteria. Length of time on the waiting list is not a factor in offering a place.
When the school returns from the Summer holidays, if there are any vacancies offers are made to the top of the waiting list.
Being on the waiting list does not guarantee a place at the school.
Year 7 Admissions for September 2024

Timeline for Admission Appeals for Year 7 – September 2024
Following national offer day on Wednesday 1st March 2024, if you named Oakgrove School as one of your preferences and were unsuccessful, you will be sent a letter from the school providing further details as to why it wasn’t possible to allocate a place.
All unsuccessful applicants have a right to appeal against the decision not to offer a place to an independent appeal panel.
The appeals timetable* for Oakgrove School for students transferring to Year 7 in September 2024 is shown below. Both the Stage 1 hearing and Stage 2 individual hearings will be held virtually, with meeting invites issued by the Clerk to the Independent Appeal Panel nearer the time.

In-Year Admissions
In-year admissions refers to applications made at any time after the normal age of transfer at the end of primary school.
Parent/Carers should be aware that Oakgrove School is a vastly oversubscribed school with more applicants than places available and each year many parent/carers are unsuccessful in their application for a place. Please note that when a place does become available it is allocated strictly in accordance with the school’s admissions criteria.
Oakgrove School maintains a waiting list throughout the academic year. The waiting list will be ranked in accordance with the over-subscription criteria and length of time on the list will not be a factor in offering a place. This means that children will move up and down the list as other children are or removed. Being on the waiting list does not guarantee a place at the school. Waiting lists close at the end of the academic year.
In-Year Admissions for Years 7-11
Applications for an in-year admission can be made directly to Oakgrove School.

Applications and Appeals are not processed during school holidays.
The school is currently full in all year groups, so a turn down letter will initially be sent out.

The consultation on the proposed Sixth Form admission arrangements for Oakgrove School for September 2023 closed on 25th January 2022. The Local Governing Body would like to thank everyone who responded. The Local Governing Body reviewed the consultation responses and decided the Sixth Form admission arrangements should be adopted as proposed.
