Starting Nursery September 2026
Oakgrove Nursery currently offers provision for children aged 3 and 4. The main in-take for Nursery is the September for a child's third birthday.
This process is for children born between 1st September 2022 and 31st August 2023.
Applications open 1st November 2025 for starting in September 2026. The application window will be open until noon on Friday, 13th March 2026.
Allocations for the Nursery will be made by Friday, 27th March 2026. We will email / post out allocation information to all successful applicants by Friday, 27th March.
If the Nursery is unable to offer a place to your child, you will be informed in writing. There is no right of appeal. The Nursery will hold a continued interest list and you may request for your details to be included.

How to Apply
Oakgrove Nursery Application Form - September 2026
To complete the application form, which is an editable PDF, the applicant needs to save the form on to their device (phone/tablet/laptop), complete the form and then press save to save the completed form. Then attach the completed form and supporting documentation to an email and send to admissions@ket.education
Please ensure that you have provided both the completed form and the supporting documentation.
Closing Date
Please note that the application process is not a first come first served basis. All applications received by the closing of the application window, which is at noon on Friday 13 March 2026 will be processed.
Offers are subject to availability of places. The main intake for Nursery is the September following your child's third birthday.
We aim to respond to your application within 10 school days of receipt with a confirmation of receipt of Nursery application letter. Allocation of places for the Nursery (September 2026) will take place by Friday, 27th March.
Please note that the admissions office is open term time only.
It should be noted that a place in the nursery class does not automatically guarantee admission to the Primary school. Parents should refer to the Primary School admissions policy for September 2027 further advice on applying for a place in Reception.
Starting Nursery September 2026 Open Event
Open Nursery Drop In session will be held on Thursday, 27th November from 4pm to 6pm. This is for any prospective nursery parents to visit the nursery setting at Oakgrove Primary School.

Offers are subject to availability of places. The nursery is currently full, if you wish to be placed on the waiting list and see if a place becomes available later on in the academic year, then please submit an application for the Nursery you will receive a confirmation that the application has been received and your child placed on the waiting list. The waiting list is ranked via the Oversubscription Criteria.

Parent/Carers should be aware that Oakgrove School is an oversubscribed school, with more applicants than places available and each year many Parent/Carers are unsuccessful in their application for a place. Please note that when a place does become available it is allocated strictly in accordance with the school’s admissions criteria.

The school is full in all Year groups, so a turn down letter will initially be sent out. You will then have the opportunity to place your child(ren) on the waiting list for the 2025/2026 academic year. The waiting list closes at the end of July 2026. This builds the waiting lists for each year group from September.
Once the school has returned from the school holidays in September then should there be any vacancies in the year group places will be offered to the top of the waiting list.
Parent/Carers should be aware that Oakgrove Primary School is an oversubscribed school with more applicants than places available and each year many parent/carers are unsuccessful in their application for a place. Please note that when a place does become available it is allocated strictly in accordance with the school’s admissions criteria.
Oakgrove Primary School maintains a waiting list throughout the academic year. The waiting list will be ranked in accordance with the over-subscription criteria and length of time on the list will not be a factor in offering a place. This means that children will move up and down the list as other children are added or removed. Being on the waiting list does not guarantee a place at the school. Waiting lists close at the end of the academic year.

Year 7 September 2026 - Oakgrove School Admissions Appeals
Following national offer day on Monday, 2nd March 2026 if you named Oakgrove School as one of your preferences and were unsuccessful, you will be sent a letter from the school providing further details as to why it wasn’t possible to allocate a place.
All unsuccessful applicants have a right to appeal against the decision not to offer a place to an independent appeal panel.
The appeals timetable* for Oakgrove School for students transferring to Year 7 in September 2026 is shown below. Both the Stage 1 hearing and Stage 2 individual hearings will be held virtually, with meeting invites issued by the Clerk to the Independent Appeal Panel nearer the time.

Should you wish to appeal against the decision not to offer your child a place at Oakgrove School, please email the admissions team at admissions@ket.education providing the name of the child, their date of birth, naming Oakgrove School and an email address where the appeal paperwork can be sent.
Requests for appeal packs must be made by 12 noon on Monday, 13th April 2026 at 12 noon.
*Please note it may not be possible to include within this timetable any appeals that are lodged after the deadline.
**This is the deadline by which the completed appeal form must be received by the Clerk to the Independent Appeal Panel.

The Kingsbridge Educational Trust Admissions Team only handles Nursery to Year 11 inclusive. The Sixth form application and admissions process is managed by the Sixth Form team at Oakgrove School.
