Joy, a local resident who is passionate about the welfare of bees has donated £1000 to Oakgrove School. The gratefully received contribution has enabled the grounds staff to create a new bee friendly garden and to purchase resources for the after-school Bee Club.

Built close to the school’s bee hives, the garden, now forever named as ‘Joy’s Garden’, has been designed with plants which the bees can benefit from.

Educational bee keeping books have also been purchased and the club hopes to buy a new camera, so that the students can monitor the bees and their development.
